About Me

My photo
Little Wonders is a wonderful learning center located right here in Missouri City. This is where talent, imagination and professional skills are being dedicated to the teaching of our young children. We understand that children learn differently. Through observation and listening, we encourage each individual's unique learning styles; while focusing on their physical, educational and emotional needs. All of our teachers are professionally qualified with combined expertise in education, speech & hearing therapy, bilingual education and English as a Second Language. With a low student-teacher ratio, we provide your child with the attention they need. Little Wonders Learning Center is located at the corner of Lexington Blvd. and Dulles Ave. In this center, you will find a number of warm, loving teachers committed to putting children first. This isn't your ordinary day care facility.

Another Masterpiece

Well, we brought a group of the infants to the art studio to paint, but at first they were only interested in......
SEA SHELLS!!!!!
When all of a sudden JJ found the paint!!!
Aha!  Lets watch what happens when they put the sea shells down and pick up the paint brushes.........
Some of us were so concerned with the paint on our hands ;0)
Look what Aven did to JJ!!!!!
Jackson was so into his painting, he had a brush in each hand and he was so involved in his work!
Ahhhh, a job well done!
But this was the cutest masterpiece!  Truly a work of art, it seems most of the paint was on their bodies instead of on the paper!

Our Latest Masterpiece

We have had so much fun observing our little ones painting!
We are excited they are enjoying it, and we are anxious to see how their artistic skills develop.  Allowing the children to paint helps small muscles in the hands and fingers are develop, the sense of touch, color, and texture is developed, eye-to-hand coordination is developed, and language is developed through adult-child interaction.

Take a look at how our latest masterpiece was created.................

Once again the materials were presented to a group of children!  Hmmmmm......... our little Raymond was ALL OVER IT!!!  ;0)
He jumped in and touched it right away!
Zoey remembers her past experiences and was cautious about it!  She remembers what a mess Aven looked like last time she played with paint.  This time Aven was excited about the new sponges she had never seen!  Araf was wanting to touch it but still holding back!
Zoey: "Raymond!  Are you sure you want to touch that??"
Raymond:  "Come on Araf, touch it!  It feels so good!"
Zoey:  " No, Araf, don't do it!  It is weird stuff!!!!"
But looking at Raymond and Aven playing around is building up the other's temptation to touch it.....
But then, Aven was more interested in the sponges ;0)
Araf:  "Okay, Zoey, I'm going for it!!!!"
Raymond:  "Come on Araf, touch all of the colors!"
Aven:  "You guys should really try moving your feet in the paint, it feels so good!"
Aven:  "If I could just get a good taste of some of this paint....."
Araf:  "Okay, I get it now!!!  This is hard work!"
Look!  Zoey picked up a sponge!!!!!
Zoey:  "Hmmm I am not sure about this!"
"Let me put it back down"
"Okay!  Nothing happened lets dip it in some paint!"
Raymond:  "Yea!  Zoey!  Come on let's play!"
Zoey:  "Now I get it!  Give me the paint!"
So our little Kate was done with her bottle and she joined us!  Zoey was telling her all about it and explaining everything in the room. ;0)
She gave Kate the sponges and told her how to paint! ;0)
But Kate seemed to enjoy the relaxing music playing in the background!  She could careless about the paint, she just smiled and laughed the whole time while she danced!

How great to see all of their personalities in this activity!  We had so much fun, and look at their art work hanging in their room!

Children from Little Wonders Learning Center plant trees.

LITTLE WONDERS SHARES THE MESSAGE TO GO GREEN – Children from Little Wonders Learning Center are going green in a big way by planting trees for “Trees Across Sugar Land,” making compost piles, picking up trash for”Texas trash off” and visiting the recycling center to drop off collected items. These inspiring 3- to 5-year-olds have even won art contests using recyclable materials and trash. After taking a class field trip to see the movie Earth, the children were so inspired they raised enough money to adopt a polar bear family. Their latest project involves helping with the water crisis. They have raised enough money to send one of their own parents to Guatemala to build a well with Living Water International.
